ABOUT

I graduated with a Ph.D. in History and African American & Diaspora Studies from Penn State University in August 2020. I hold an MA in History from Penn State and a BA in History & Theatre Arts from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. I currently serve as the Assistant Production Manager for Penn State’s student union, the HUB-Robeson Center, overseeing live event production for a 900-seat proscenium theater, a 140-seat black box, and various other event spaces. I also work as an adjunct faculty member for the departments of History, African American & Diaspora Studies, and the School of Theatre at Penn State teaching courses in African American Theater, American Theater History, and Nineteenth-Century US and African American History. I am the owner of my own freelance lighting design company, Sperrazza Design LLC, and continue to design theatrical, dance, and concert productions throughout the Northeast.

I currently reside in State College, PA with my wife, Taylor, and our puppy, Olive.
